His shadow step phases him through terrain for map coverage few champions can match, and as he fights he fills a bar toward one of two forms, the bruiser Rhaast who heals off everything or the assassin who bursts and vanishes. Falling behind early is recoverable on this scaling curve. Watch for Zyra, Briar, and Fiddlesticks, who can shut Kayn down early before he transforms, so respect the matchup and avoid risky face-checks. His wall mobility gives him escape routes most opponents cannot answer once you know the map. He hunts Naafiri, Shyvana, and Lee Sin well, so seek out those fights and turn the kills into a faster transformation, then take over.
