When Is Cho'Gath Strongest?
The curve keeps climbing into the mid-to-late game, and games at this rank average around 28 minutes. Cho'Gath's win condition is health stacking, so trade the early lane safely, farm devour stacks off kills, and turn every teamfight into a wall the enemy cannot move that still eats their carry whole.
Cho'Gath Item Build
Cho'Gath is a scaling tank mage who gets bigger every time he lands a killing blow, so the build stacks health and resistances to survive while adding enough ability power to make his crowd control actually hurt. The whole plan is to reach a size where nobody can trade with him and his devour still one-shots.
Best Cho'Gath Runes
Hail of Blades hands him a burst of attack speed the moment he opens a fight, so once his knockup and silence land he squeezes in free hits a tank usually never gets. Cho'Gath only needs a short window to set up his execute, and front-loading a few fast attacks turns that combo into real damage. Fill the rest with resolve so he holds the line while he scales.

Cho'Gath Skill Order
The first max is Vorpal Spikes, claiming levels 1, 4, 5, 7 and 9, so his attacks carry a slow long before the cone gets a second rank. Feral Scream holds the point it took at level 3 until 14, and Rupture fills 8, 10, 12 and 13.
Cho'Gath Abilities
Every unit Cho'Gath kills feeds Carnivore, refunding a chunk of health and mana that scales up with his level. Vorpal Spikes rounds him out, layering a slow onto his basic attacks so anyone in front of him leaks speed while the bigger spells come back up.

Cho'Gath Matchups
Cho'Gath struggles against ranged pokers who chip him down from outside his cast range before he can pop anyone into the air, since his kit wants targets standing close. He feasts on melee bruisers and all-in lanes that walk straight into his knockup and silence.
