Ezreal Build 26.21

D

Off-meta at 47.3% and climbing this patch, Ezreal asks more of the pilot than almost any marksman. His damage is not in his auto-attacks but in landing the Q skillshot, which pokes, applies his on-hit effects, and shaves the cooldown off every one of his abilities when it connects. String those hits together and his blink keeps him untouchable while he chips the enemy down. Miss them and he does nothing, which is exactly why his floor is low and his ceiling is sky-high.

When Is Ezreal Strongest?

The peak lands in the mid-game once the core items come together, and games at this rank average around 28 minutes. Ezreal's win condition is safe scaling, so ride the power window by poking objectives and fights from range, stacking his attack speed passive, and never spending his blink until the moment he truly needs to survive.

Ezreal Item Build

Ezreal is a skillshot marksman who reduces his own cooldowns every time his main bolt connects, so the build leans into ability haste and steady damage to keep his poke and his blink always available. The items reward accuracy, turning a laner who lands his shots into a safe, scaling threat that snowballs its own uptime.

Best Ezreal Runes

Lethal Tempo is the usual setup. Whatever the page, the engine underneath is identical, landing Q consistently is what powers the keystone, his passive attack speed, and his cooldown resets all at once. The rune choice just follows the same rule the rest of his kit does, hit your skillshots and everything snowballs from there.

Build toward Trinity Force into Spear of Shojin and lean on Ezreal's poke until it all comes together. You want an early lead here, so punish your winning matchups fast. Once Spear of Shojin is finished around 25 minutes, every Q chunks for real damage and refunds enough cooldown to keep the barrage almost constant. Play the early game safe and attritional, poking from max range until that item turns your chip damage into a genuine threat.

Ezreal Skill Order

Points 1, 4 and 5 all go to Mystic Shot, which is why the poke bites so much harder after level 5 than it did at level 2. Arcane Shift sits at rank one until level 8, so early trades lean on the bolt more than the blink.

Ezreal Abilities

Almost none of that mentions the passive: Rising Spell Force stacks attack speed every time a spell connects, up to five, so his autos ramp the more he hits. Essence Flux plants an orb that detonates on his next hit, and Arcane Shift's bolt homes onto whatever it stuck.

Ezreal Matchups

Ezreal is squishy and relies on his blink to stay safe, so hard engage that burns his escape and lockdown that catches him mid-animation are the threats that punish him. Immobile poke lanes and slow-moving frontlines that cannot pin him down let him whittle everything from a safe range.

Respect Mel, Yone, and Yasuo in the early game, all-in and dive threats who can close the gap before his blink is back up and punish his lack of steroids. He has one escape and a long cooldown on it. Into Swain, Seraphine, and Veigar, his poke wins the war of attrition outright, so sit at range, poke safely, and whittle them down until they cannot contest an objective. Patience into those matchups is how he takes the game over.
