HeartGold & SoulSilver Route 35
Goldenrod's short northern road forks to the new Pokeathlon Dome. Its five athletic events pull crowds off the old path up to the National Park.
Route 35 is in Johto, with Route 36 to the north and Goldenrod City to the south. In the story it comes after Goldenrod Underground and continues north to National Park.

- After delivering the Spearow with its Mail to Route 31, return to the guard in the southern gate for HP Up.
- Face Magby, Magmar and Magmortar in Walt's advanced rematch. His earlier rematch still fields a Magmar pair.
- For Arnie's later rematches, expect Venonat first, then Venomoth, and finally Nincada alongside Venomoth.
- Head north into National Park when you finish the current crossing.

Yanma is the swarm prize here, appearing only when the daily swarm lands, so check the radio before you search. Ditto walks the grass the rest of the time, and the Nidoran pair fills out the route for anyone building toward Nidoking or Nidoqueen.

The approach to the National Park is dense with trainers, the Jugglers worth noting for the Voltorb and Electrode they love to detonate. Levels sit in the mid-teens, but the sheer count wears your team down.
