Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver Version Exclusives
HeartGold has 21 exclusives and SoulSilver 19, and ten on each side can be yours before the League. The rest wait for the post-game: Kanto swarms, Rock Smash fossils, a roaming Latias or Latios, and Kyogre or Groudon in the Embedded Tower. Ho-Oh and Lugia are in both versions, but only your version’s mascot waits for you in the story at Lv 45; the other one comes after the League at Lv 70.
Every exclusive and where to catch it
Each row sets a HeartGold exclusive beside its usual SoulSilver counterpart. Every stage lists where you get it, the time of day when it matters, and the first badge the game needs before you can.
When each version’s exclusives show up
The first badge each Pokémon needs: the badge that opens the road, lets a field move work outside battle, or opens the shop that sells its evolution stone. Exclusive lines before the League: HeartGold: 6, SoulSilver: 6.
Exclusives against every boss
For each battle, these are the exclusives you can have by then that hit at least half the boss’s team super effectively with one of their own types. Level and stone evolutions count up to the boss’s highest level, and Levitate is factored in. The Kanto gyms and Red come after the League, so they are not listed.
Counts use each exclusive’s own types, not its full moveset. The battle pages have the movesets.
