Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon Version Exclusives
Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon each lock 28 Pokémon to one version. Sixteen on each side turn up during the island challenge, from Cottonee or Petilil in Melemele Meadow to Solgaleo or Lunala on the Mahalo Trail. The other twelve wait for the post-game: nine legendaries from earlier regions through the Ultra Wormholes, and three Ultra Beasts.
Every exclusive and where to catch it
Each row sets an Ultra Sun exclusive beside its usual Ultra Moon counterpart. Every stage lists where you get it and the island where the game first lets you have it.
When each version’s exclusives show up
The island where each Pokémon first becomes available, after the trial that opens its road or the item that evolves it. Exclusive lines before the League: Ultra Sun: 10, Ultra Moon: 10.
Exclusives against every boss
For each battle, these are the exclusives you can have by then that hit at least half the boss’s team super effectively with one of their own types. Level and stone evolutions count up to the boss’s highest level, and Levitate is factored in.
The island challenge sets the order, so the trials are listed as you meet them.

How to get Ultra Moon exclusives in Ultra Sun
How to get Ultra Sun exclusives in Ultra Moon
- Both players need: a Nintendo 3DS system each, close together, since trades now run over local wireless
- Where: Link Trade in Festival Plaza
- Connect with: local wireless; online Link Trade, the GTS and Wonder Trade ended with the 3DS online services on April 8, 2024
No exclusive here needs a trade to evolve. Plan the Ultra Wormhole legendaries, though: each appears only until you catch it, and Suicune, Rayquaza, Giratina, Landorus and Kyurem only show up when your party holds both versions’ legendaries of their set, so finishing them in one save takes a trade.
