HeartGold & SoulSilver Bell Tower
Ho-Oh has roosted for centuries atop this sacred tower past Ecruteak's Bellchime Trail. Earn the bell from the Kimono Girls and the rainbow guardian descends, HeartGold's cover legend.
Bell Tower is in Johto, with Ecruteak City to the south. In the story it comes after Route 46 and before Whirl Islands.
BELL TOWER MAP
Bell Tower, the renamed Tin Tower, is a ten-story climb where one-directional ramps and warp tiles stand in for stairs, and once inside you need no field move at all.
Pokemon Encounters
After dark the upper floors fill with Gastly at 80 percent, the main wild catch inside. The right radio card pulls in Chatot, Meditite, Spinda, or Zigzagoon at 20 percent, Pokemon carried in from distant regions. Ho-Oh perches at the very top, level 45 in HeartGold but a steeper level 70 in SoulSilver.

Bell Tower Guide
Ho-Oh lands on the roof of the Bell Tower in Ecruteak City, called the Tin Tower back in Gold and Silver, once the Rainbow Wing is in your bag and the Kimono Girls have finished their dance. It is Level 45 in HeartGold, where the catch is woven into the main story, and Level 70 in SoulSilver. Knock it out or flee, and a second Champion run brings Ho-Oh back to the roof.
