Ranchers graze cattle on the open pasture west of Ecruteak, the first grassy leg of the long road to Olivine.

Route 38 is in Johto, with Ecruteak City to the east. In the story it comes after Burned Tower and continues west to Route 39.

Walk out of the Ecruteak City gatehouse to meet five trainers on the pasture road of Route 38.
