HeartGold & SoulSilver Slowpoke Well

Beneath Azalea, Team Rocket saws the tails off the Slowpoke fishing in the spring. Clearing them out forces your first clash with the cold executive Proton, who claims the gang folded years ago.

Slowpoke Well is in Johto. In the story you arrive from Azalea Town to the south and it comes before Ilex Forest.

SLOWPOKE WELL MAP

Two levels beneath Azalea, the bottom of the Slowpoke Well stays sealed until you can both Surf its pool and clear a Strength boulder from the path.

Slowpoke fills the well it is named for. This is the place to stock up before evolving one into Slowbro or Slowking. Zubat and Golbat hang in the darker depths, and the rods reach Goldeen and Seaking in the lower water.
