Emerald Route 117
A gentle meadow route between Mauville and Verdanturf. The Pokemon Day Care sits right on the path, so this is where most trainers start hatching eggs.
Route 117 is in Hoenn. In the story you arrive from Mauville City to the east and continue west to Verdanturf Town.

Route 117 stays gentle on the stretch by the Day Care: on your first visit its Breeders and Triathletes top out at level 17. The Sr. and Jr. pair Anna and Meg battle you together in a double battle.

No, and losing that split is a real perk. On one Emerald cartridge you can raise both Zangoose and Seviper, both halves of every version pair, with nothing to trade and no version column to check. A few species that skipped Ruby and Sapphire show up here too.
You'll want all of them. The three rods pull different fished species as you trade up from Old to Good to Super, Surf opens the surface water where Wingull and Sharpedo swim, and Dive reaches the underwater seaweed on Routes 124 to 126 where Clamperl and Relicanth live. Dive comes from the Mossdeep gym.
