Emerald Route 129
Out in the deep eastern reaches, the seabed drops away beneath you. It's one of the rare spots where a fully grown Wailord might breach right alongside your boat.
Route 129 is in Hoenn, with Route 128 to the north. In the story it comes after Cave of Origin and continues west to Route 130.

Pokemon Encounters
A wild Wailord breaches at just 1% here, a rare shortcut past raising the biggest Pokemon in the game from a Wailmer. The rest is the deep-sea regulars.

Route 129 Guide
Wailord is half the key to unlocking the Regi caves, on top of being a rare deep-water catch off these surf tiles. The Sealed Chamber braille wants Wailord in your first party slot and Relicanth in the last to break the seal, so land one here and pair it with a Relicanth from the dive spots.
No, and losing that split is a real perk. On one Emerald cartridge you can raise both Zangoose and Seviper, both halves of every version pair, with nothing to trade and no version column to check. A few species that skipped Ruby and Sapphire show up here too.
You'll want all of them. The three rods pull different fished species as you trade up from Old to Good to Super, Surf opens the surface water where Wingull and Sharpedo swim, and Dive reaches the underwater seaweed on Routes 124 to 126 where Clamperl and Relicanth live. Dive comes from the Mossdeep gym.
