Emerald Mt. Pyre
A misty mountain graveyard where trainers lay their Pokemon to rest. At the summit, both villainous teams snatch an Orb and flee, and the old woman there gives you the Magma Emblem.
Mt. Pyre is in Hoenn. In the story you arrive from Route 122 to the south and it comes before Route 123.
MT. PYRE MAP
Mt. Pyre needs no HM, just stamina. The indoor graveyard rises floor by floor, and then an open mountainside zigzags the rest of the way to the peak.
Pokemon Encounters
Mt. Pyre leans hard into Ghost-types. Shuppet haunt nearly every floor while Duskull lurk at lower rates, two strong evolution lines in one climb. Vulpix add a 30% Fire option, and a 2% Chimecho near the summit rewards a patient sweep.

Mt. Pyre is dense with held items, among them a Sea Incense, a Lax Incense, and a Cleanse Tag that cuts wild encounters by about a third. TM30 Shadow Ball and TM48 Skill Swap are the prize teaches, and the Magma Emblem here opens the hideout later.

Mt. Pyre Guide
Almost never. You can feel your way through the dark stretches, and the cave HM that actually earns a party slot is Rock Smash, not Flash. Flash only matters for a couple of black rooms late in Victory Road, so don't waste an early move slot on it.
Yes, more than Flash is. Smashing the cracked rocks in Granite Cave turns up a Nosepass you won't meet any other way, and the ones in Victory Road hide Geodude and Graveler. Keep one party member who knows it so you're not backtracking when a breakable rock shows up.
