Ruby & Sapphire Mt. Pyre
Hoenn's memorial mountain lays Pokemon to rest among tombstones and drifting ghosts. At the peak, the team boss robs an old couple of their Orb: the Red in Ruby, the Blue in Sapphire.
Mt. Pyre is in Hoenn. In the story you arrive from Route 122 to the south and it comes before Route 123.
MT. PYRE MAP
Six interior floors of the graveyard stack up inside Mt. Pyre before the path breaks outdoors and switchbacks to the summit. No HM is needed here, only patience for the long way up.
Pokemon Encounters
Shuppet and Duskull both haunt Mt. Pyre, but the version decides which floods the floors: Duskull dominates Ruby while Shuppet dominates Sapphire. Chimecho is the true rarity at 2 percent near the summit, with Vulpix, Meditite, and Wingull among the graves.

TRAINERS
Team Magma in Ruby (Team Aqua in Sapphire) storms the summit, but the long climb up is Hex Maniacs whose Ghost-types ignore Normal attacks entirely. Ten trainers crowd the floors, none above the low 30s, yet the steady ghosts make it a slower climb than the levels suggest.

Mt. Pyre Guide
At the summit the villain team steals the orb tied to the legendary it wants, then leaves. In Ruby, Team Magma takes the Blue Orb and the old woman gives you the Red Orb; in Sapphire, Team Aqua takes the Red Orb and you get the Blue Orb. It plays out as a story scene, not a puzzle.
Chimecho lives only outside on the summit, and at a low rate, so most players miss it by leaving right after the orb scene. Walk the summit grass and be patient if you want one in Ruby or Sapphire. The interior floors are a Ghost-type den instead.
Flash is optional in most Hoenn caves. A hiker on Granite Cave's first floor hands you HM05, and the Knuckle Badge lets you use it in the field. Only a few dark rooms in Victory Road really call for it, so teach it to a spare Pokemon and skip the wall-bumping.
In long caves like Victory Road they pay off, letting you reach exits and items without constant low-level battles. Keep in mind a Repel only quiets random wild encounters, so it does nothing about the level-45 Groudon or Kyogre standing in the Cave of Origin, and Shoal Cave's rooms still open and close on the tide no matter what you hold.
