Ruby & Sapphire Route 123
Berry patches and flower beds line this long hillside route end to end. Trainers crowd the grass along the eastern stretch between Mt. Pyre's shore and Lilycove.
Route 123 is in Hoenn, with Route 122 to the north and Route 118 to the west. In the story it comes after Mt. Pyre and before Lilycove City.
ROUTE 123 MAP
Pokemon Encounters
Berry plots, not wild grass, are the real draw of Route 123, though a hidden Kecleon still blocks the path at 1 percent until you carry the Devon Scope. The grass is the routine Oddish and Linoone mix, with Duskull (Ruby) or Shuppet (Sapphire) at 30 percent.

Route 123 Guide
Duskull in Ruby, Shuppet in Sapphire, each sitting in the other's slot. Both make a solid early Ghost type if you want one before Mt. Pyre. Trade if you're set on the version your copy can't catch.
Yes. The Berry Master and his wife each hand out a free Berry once a day, and the wife trades rare Berries for the right two-word phrase. Route 123 is the most item-heavy route in Hoenn, so sweep it for held items and Berries on your way through.
Several routes do. Ruby drops Seedot and Zangoose into slots where Sapphire gives you Lotad and Seviper, and the caves split Mawile against Sableye. Check the version column before you spend an hour hunting something your copy can't catch. The rest of the species are shared.
Reach for the Super Rod on most routes, but two of Hoenn's prize catches ignore rods altogether. Feebas only bites on six hidden tiles of Route 119, and Relicanth comes from diving the seaweed off Routes 124 and 126, not from any rod. For the rest, the Super Rod pulls the deep-water species the Old and Good Rods can't reach.
