Mixed Fire attacker where the type split creates a unique problem: 110 Attack can't power Fire TermStab because Fire is special, hitting from only 100 Sp. Atk instead. Arcanine Emerald Guide
In Emerald, use Arcanine as a pivot. Special attacks are the main output. Speed is middling, Overheat is the primary attack.
Arcanine has a Hisuian form that swaps the typing and reshuffles the stats. Introduced in Gen 8. Worth checking if the original version doesn't fit your team.
For Emerald, run Lonely on Arcanine. +Attack is what matters, and the -Defense cut doesn't hurt this set. Fits the pivot role.
Arcanine isn't catchable in Emerald. Obtain one in FireRed, then trade it to Emerald.
Game Availability
Available since Red & Blue, Arcanine appears in 21 games spanning 9 generations. Beyond its original form, it gained a Hisuian form in Generation 8.
