Yellow Safari Zone
A sprawling wildlife preserve with its own catching rules, prowled by prized Pokemon like Kangaskhan, Scyther, and elusive Chansey.
Safari Zone is in Kanto. In the story you arrive from Fuchsia City to the south and it comes before Route 12.
SAFARI ZONE MAP
Four zones branch off the central Area, but the step counter runs out long before you can cover them all and drops you back at the gate. One visit usually reaches a single zone.
Pokemon Encounters
Kanto's great rare hunt sits here, with Chansey, Scyther, Pinsir, and Tangela all at a brutal 1 percent. Kangaskhan and Tauros are easier marquee catches at 10 to 15 percent. The Super Rod can land a Dratini toward an eventual Dragonite.

Safari Zone Guide
Right around level 10, with the odd Dragonair near 15. Those are low even for the Safari Zone, so any Dratini you hook is a long raise toward Dragonite, but this pond is the only place in the game it bites at all. Bring the Super Rod and some patience.
Mostly because of the Gold Teeth lying in the grass. Hand them to the Warden in Fuchsia and he gives you Strength, the move that later unlocks the boulder gates in Seafoam and Victory Road, so missing the Teeth strands you much later. The hidden Surf HM in the Secret House is a nice bonus on the same trip.
Yes, and that's a Yellow bonus worth knowing. Red and Blue each restrict you to one of the two, but Yellow puts both Scyther and Pinsir in the Safari grass. They sit at low rates like the zone's other rare prizes, and since nothing here can be weakened first, landing either comes down to patience and Safari Balls.
