Red & Blue Safari Zone
A fenced reserve where limited Safari Balls and special rules replace normal catching, prowled by prizes like Kangaskhan, Tauros, and Chansey.
Safari Zone is in Kanto. In the story you arrive from Fuchsia City to the south and it comes before Fuchsia Gym.
SAFARI ZONE MAP
You get a fixed number of steps before the gate boots you back out, so the four areas really come down to a choose-one-route trip. Pick the corner you want before the counter starts.
Pokemon Encounters
Every rarity here is a gamble against your Safari Balls and the timer. The four 1% prizes are Chansey, Tauros, Kangaskhan, and either Scyther or Pinsir depending on your game. Dratini hides on the Super Rod, and the Nidoran lines roam everywhere between.

Safari Zone Guide
Two key field moves come out of here. HM03 Surf hides in the Secret House at the far end, and the Gold Teeth you find trade to the Warden in Fuchsia City for HM04 Strength. Grab both before you leave.
The trophy catches here are Chansey, Tauros, Kangaskhan, and your version's bug (Scyther in Red, Pinsir in Blue), none above a 4 percent slot. Since you can't whittle their HP, it comes down to throwing ball after ball and accepting one visit usually isn't enough. The flee chance makes these the hardest catches in the games.
Yes, and outside the Celadon Game Corner this is the only spot the Dragonite line starts. You hook it with the Super Rod in the Safari ponds rather than finding it in grass. Fishing doesn't burn your step count, so one entry fee gets you as many casts as you want.
