Route 14 runs south out of Route 13 as one long corridor, and every trainer along it can be stepped around, so you choose each battle.
  1. Follow the bottom lane west from Route 13 to the fence's only gap, where a Bird Keeper battles you with Pidgeotto and Fearow once you speak.
  2. Pass through the gap and face the Bird Keeper standing just below it, looking north, for his Spearow, Doduo and Fearow.
  3. Continue down the corridor, where a Biker fights you with Koffing and Muk, then face the Bird Keeper just under him, who relies on one bird alone.

The route's only tall grass hides behind a CutMoveCutNormalClassPhysicalPower50Accuracy95%PP30Cuts using claws, scythes, etc. tree on the west side, with a ledge below it as the way back out.
  1. CutMoveCutNormalClassPhysicalPower50Accuracy95%PP30Cuts using claws, scythes, etc. the tree on the west side of the corridor just past that fight, step west, then head north, where a Biker challenges you with Koffing and Grimer.
  2. A second Biker battles you a little farther north with two Grimer and a Koffing. Beyond him, cut the west-side tree and walk up into the grass.
  3. Hop the ledge under the grass and go south to the field, where a south-facing Biker battles you with three Koffing and a Grimer when spoken to.
  4. Cross the field to face the Bird Keeper looking north for Spearow and Fearow, then take the lane running west between both sight lines into Route 15.

Route 14 Guide

  • Yes. Each version locks away a handful of route species. Ekans, Oddish, Mankey, and Growlithe stay in Red, while Sandshrew, Bellsprout, Meowth, and Vulpix belong to Blue, with Scyther and Pinsir split the same way. Trading with the other version is the only way to fill those gaps.

  • Three rods, three givers. A fisherman in Vermilion City hands over the Old Rod, which only ever hooks Magikarp. The Good Rod comes from a fishing fan in Fuchsia City and adds Poliwag, Goldeen, and other common catches. The Super Rod, waiting on Route 12, reaches the rod-only rarities listed here.
