Yellow Pewter City
A rocky city at the western edge of Viridian Forest, home to Brock's Rock-type Gym and the Pewter Museum of Science.
Pewter City is in Kanto, with Route 2 to the south and the entrance to Pewter Gym. In the story it comes after Viridian Forest and continues east to Route 3.

- From Route 2, head north up the main road into Pewter City; the gym door sits on its west side, south of the museum.
- The Poke Mart stands east of the gym door on the same street and is the first shop to sell Escape Rope and Awakening.
- A cuttable tree east of the museum blocks the path to its back entrance, so leave it until you hold CutMoveCutNormalClassPhysicalPower50Accuracy95%PP30Cuts using claws, scythes, etc. and the Cascade Badge.

Museum of Science
- Come back with CutMoveCutNormalClassPhysicalPower50Accuracy95%PP30Cuts using claws, scythes, etc., clear the tree east of the museum and walk west through the back entrance into the Museum of Science.
- In the back room that only the CutMoveCutNormalClassPhysicalPower50Accuracy95%PP30Cuts using claws, scythes, etc. entrance reaches, speak with the scientist and receive the Old AmberOld AmberReceived from the scientist in the back room of the Pewter Museum of Science (requires Cut to access back entrance).

TRAINERS
Brock and his Rock-types guard the Pewter Gym, Onix the wall at level 12. One Jr. Trainer outside is the only other fight in town.
Pewter City Guide
Mostly just one. Lt. Surge is the leader Yellow retuned toward the anime, and his upgraded Raichu can stop an underprepared team cold. Brock and Misty play about the same as in Red and Blue. The difficulty isn't a steady climb, more a couple of spikes you can plan around once you know they're coming.
