Yellow Viridian City
A green city bordering Viridian Forest, home to the eighth Gym led by Giovanni, which stays sealed until the other seven Badges are won.
Viridian City is in Kanto, with Route 22 to the west and the entrance to Viridian Gym. In the story you arrive from Route 1 to the south and continue north to Route 2.

Viridian City Guide
Mostly just one. Lt. Surge is the leader Yellow retuned toward the anime, and his upgraded Raichu can stop an underprepared team cold. Brock and Misty play about the same as in Red and Blue. The difficulty isn't a steady climb, more a couple of spikes you can plan around once you know they're coming.
