Yellow Route 25

Home to Bill's seaside cottage at the end of the cape past Nugget Bridge, crowded with Trainers along grass and shore.

Route 25 is in Kanto. In the story you arrive from Route 24 to the west and it comes before Route 5.

ROUTE 25 MAP

This is a dead-end spur with a single entrance that doubles as its only exit. It traces the coast east past Nugget Bridge to one cottage and goes no further.

On Route 25 only the two Lass trainers stand where you cannot slip past, so every other fight here is yours to take or skip.
  1. From Route 24, walk east below the ledges, then turn north onto the upper path, where the westernmost Hiker battles you with Machop and Geodude.
  2. The short dead end north and a little east of the westernmost Hiker hides an Elixir in the wall.
  3. Step south through the gap straight above the next Hiker to battle him and his lone Onix.

Route 25 Guide

  • Trading is unavoidable. Yellow's wild tables quietly drop some Pokemon, and a few like Pikachu only come as gifts, never as wild catches. On top of that, evolutions like Alakazam, Machamp, Golem, and Gengar only finish over a link cable. You'll need a Red or Blue cart to round out the dex.

  • Cut and Surf open the most ground. Cut clears the small trees blocking shortcuts, and the S.S. Anne's captain teaches it. Surf carries you across the water routes like 19 and 20. Strength comes later for boulder puzzles in caves. Spread these onto a party member you don't mind using as your traveler.
