Venonat Weakness
Venonat is weak to Fire, Flying, Psychic, Bug, and Rock. That's a lot of weak spots to cover so team support is important.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Fire, Flying, Psychic, Bug, Rock |
| 0.25x (Resist) | Grass, Fighting |
- Only 15 types exist — Dark, Steel, and Fairy are absent
- Ghost has no effect on Psychic (a known bug, fixed in Gen II)
- Special stat governs both offense and defense — no Sp.Atk / Sp.Def split

Bug/Poison typing that offers nothing on offense and very little on defense. MoveSleep Powder is the only move worth mentioning, and 65 Special can't do anything meaningful after the target wakes up. Heading toward Venomoth where the stats at least approach relevance.

Venonat Yellow Guide
In Yellow, Venonat does the job early-game if you need a Bug/Poison type on your team. Evolve it into Venomoth before the later gyms and it holds up fine through the story.
