The Balloon Pokemon. Jigglypuff is available early in Yellow, but Wigglytuff's competitive viability is too low to make the investment worthwhile.

Is Jigglypuff Good in Yellow Playthrough?

Found on Route 5 heading toward Saffron. Jigglypuff's enormous HP sounds great until you check the defenses. Can't deal damage, can't survive physical hits despite the HP, and MoveSing misses too often to rely on. Not a team pick.

Where To Catch Jigglypuff in Y

Jigglypuff Weakness

Jigglypuff's Normal typing leaves it vulnerable to Fighting. It shrugs off Ghost-type attacks completely. Only 1 weakness makes it relatively easy to build around defensively.

Y Jigglypuff Best Moveset

MoveSing at 55%% accuracy is the one competitive option, and missing it means fainting on the return hit. 45 Special and 20 Defense leave nothing to work with after the sleep either lands or doesn't. Wigglytuff improves the numbers without fixing the core problem.

Without TMs, Jigglypuff's movepool is bare bones. With them, you get coverage across 7 types on top of Skull Bash and Double-Edge for STAB. The natural kit handles basics, but TMs are doing the real work.
