Crystal Route 34
Farmland rolls down toward Goldenrod past the Pokemon Day-Care, where an old couple raises your eggs and sometimes hands back an unexpected one.
Route 34 is in Johto. In the story you arrive from Ilex Forest to the south and continue north to Goldenrod City.

Route 34 is the Day Care road, and the man there hands over the Odd Egg, a coin-flip baby that can hatch into Tyrogue, Smoochum, Elekid, Magby, or a shiny-prone Pichu. The grass adds Drowzee, Snubbull, and a scarce Ditto.

Route 34 gives TM12 Sweet Scent and a Leaf Stone to evolve Grass types, both from the Day Care area. A Nugget to sell and a stashed Rare Candy are worth the detour.

On Route 34, the Day-Care Man hands you a free Odd Egg early on. It hatches into one of seven baby Pokemon, already knowing Dizzy Punch, and its shiny odds sit at roughly one in seven, far above the usual rate. Hatch it even if you aren't shiny hunting, since the payoff can be a free shiny.
