You will not find Jynx in the wild. A Cerulean City NPC trades one for a Poliwhirl, which makes that fished-up Poliwhirl your ticket to the ice dancer.

Jynx Weakness
Jynx is weak to Fire, Bug, and Rock. On the flip side, it's immune to Ghost-type moves entirely. Jynx's special bulk (base 95 Special) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Fire, Bug, Rock |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Ice, Psychic |
| 0x (Immune) | Ghost |
- Only 15 types exist — Dark, Steel, and Fairy are absent
- Ghost has no effect on Psychic (a known bug, fixed in Gen II)
- Special stat governs both offense and defense — no Sp.Atk / Sp.Def split
