Jynx Best Moveset
115 Sp. Atk at 95 Speed with Ice/Psychic TermStab and hidden AbilityDry Skin healing in rain but adding 25% more Fire damage. The moveset hits fast from the special side, but 65/35 HP and Defense crumble to physical attackers. Fell from C-tier as frailer special attackers got outclassed.
Ice/Psychic with 95 Speed and 95 Special was excellent in Gen I (Red & Blue). Lovely Kiss put threats to sleep, and Blizzard hit incredibly hard.

Lost some ground in Gen III (Ruby & Sapphire) as more counters to Ice/Psychic emerged. Lovely Kiss was still a major threat on the lead slot.

Stealth Rock chipped it, and 35 base Defense meant any priority move was lethal in Gen IV (Diamond & Pearl). Frailty became Jynx's defining flaw.

Dry Skin gave it a Water immunity and passive Rain healing in Gen V (Black & White). Nasty Plot let it boost to dangerous Sp. Atk levels fast.

Same story in Gen VIII (Sword & Shield). No new tools, no new bulk, and the metagame had moved far beyond what 35 Defense could survive.

Jynx Weakness
Jynx is weak to Fire, Bug, Rock, Ghost, Dark, and Steel. Dry Skin grants an additional Water immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Jynx's special bulk (base 95 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.

Base Stats
Sp. Atk leads and Defense gets almost nothing. That's Jynx's stat line in a nutshell. 3 stats sit in respectable range, but the spread is brutal. Tough to catch and yields 2 Sp. Atk EVs.
In certain parts of Galar, Jynx was once feared and worshiped as the Queen of Ice.
Jynx Guide
Dry Skin changes the entire equation for Jynx. The 455 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as a pivot.
Dry Skin is what you want on Jynx. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Oblivious, Forewarn) work on paper but Dry Skin is what makes Jynx worth using.
Base 95 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Jynx is a special attacker with base 115 Sp. Atk. Best used as a pivot.
The core moveset is Ice Beam, Nasty Plot, Lovely Kiss, and Substitute. Ice Beam leads at 0% usage. This set covers the pivot role with a mix of damage and utility.
Game Availability
One of the original 151, Jynx has appeared in 19 games — most mainline games. From Red & Blue through the latest titles, it's rarely been left out of a regional Pokedex.
