How to Get Graveler in Red & Blue
Six rare high-level spots, all of them in Victory Road and nowhere else. Pushing a Geodude to level 25 gets a Graveler earlier than the cave will hand you one.

Graveler Weakness
Graveler's Rock/Ground typing leaves it vulnerable to Water, Grass, Ice, Fighting, and Ground. Water and Grass hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. It shrugs off Electric-type attacks completely. It resists 5 types, giving it decent defensive coverage. Graveler's physical bulk (base 115 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 4x (Critical) | Water, Grass |
| 2x (Weak) | Ice, Fighting, Ground |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Normal, Fire, Flying, Rock |
| 0.25x (Resist) | Poison |
| 0x (Immune) | Electric |
- Only 15 types exist — Dark, Steel, and Fairy are absent
- Ghost has no effect on Psychic (a known bug, fixed in Gen II)
- Special stat governs both offense and defense — no Sp.Atk / Sp.Def split

Moves List
Without TMs, Graveler's movepool is bare bones. With them, you get Normal and Fighting coverage on top of Earthquake and Dig for STAB. The natural kit handles basics, but TMs are doing the real work.

Graveler Red & Blue Guide
No. Graveler only evolves into Golem through a real trade. There is no in-game alternative in Red & Blue.
In Red & Blue, Graveler does the job early-game if you need a Rock/Ground type on your team. Evolve it into Golem before the later gyms and it holds up fine through the story.
In Red & Blue, use Graveler as a trick room. Physical side carries the damage. It's slow, so Trick Room or priority moves are key. Earthquake is the primary attack.
Game Availability
Graveler first appeared in Red & Blue and spans 20 games across 9 generations. It later gained an Alolan form in Generation 7, adding new dimensions to its competitive identity.
