Diamond & Pearl Iron Island
A hollowed ore mine sits off Canalave's docks, where the trainer Riley walks the tunnels alongside you. At the end of the dig he hands over a Riolu Egg.
Iron Island is in Sinnoh. In the story you arrive from Canalave City to the west and it comes before Lake Valor.

Off Canalave, the mine drops several levels below an open shore, Strength boulders and Rock Smash rubble blocking the descent deeper. Surf carries you around the island outside.
Pokemon Encounters
Steel runs deep in this mine off Canalave, where Onix and Steelix grind alongside Mawile and Sableye at 8 percent each. The real keepsake is the Riolu egg an NPC hands you near the entrance, a level 1 start on the Lucario line. Graveler and Golbat fill the lower tunnels.

ITEMS
Iron Island is a treasure run: a Shiny Stone for Togekiss or Roserade, a Metal Coat for Steelix and Scizor, and TM23 Iron Tail. An Iron Plate and a pair of Max Ethers lie down the lower shaft.

A spray-type medicine for wounds. It completely restores the HP of a single Pokemon.
Metal Coat
An item to be held by a Pokemon. It is a special metallic film that ups the power of Steel-type moves.
Super Repel
An item that prevents weak wild Pokemon from appearing for 200 steps after its use.
Ultra Ball
An ultra-performance Ball that provides a higher Pokemon catch rate than a Great Ball.
Full Restore
A medicine that fully restores the HP and heals any status problems of a single Pokemon.
Iron Plate
An item to be held by a Pokemon. It is a stone tablet that boosts the power of Steel-type moves.
Max Ether
It fully restores the PP of a single selected move that has been learned by the target Pokemon.
Revive
A medicine that revives a fainted Pokemon. It restores half the Pokemon's maximum HP.
Tiny Mushroom
A small and rare mushroom. It is quite popular among certain maniacal fan segments.
TRAINERS
Hikers and Workers grind the shafts of Iron Island, a dozen battles up to level 35 with an Ace Trainer or two for bite. A steady wear-down on the way to the deepest chamber.
Iron Island Guide
Take the sailor from Canalave City to Iron Island, where you meet Riley. He partners with you through the cave, turning wild battles into Double Battles and fully healing your team after each fight. After you clear the Team Galactic battle near the elevator exit, Riley hands you a Riolu Egg. The Riolu you hatch evolves into Lucario when you level it up during the daytime with high friendship.
