What do you need to reach Azelf at Lake Valor in Diamond and Pearl?

Surf out to Valor Cavern at the center of Lake Valor, on the stretch between Veilstone and Pastoria, to reach Azelf, the Being of Willpower. It only opens up after you defeat Cyrus at Spear Pillar. At Level 50 and stationary rather than roaming, it lets you save and reset for the catch as many times as you need.

Diamond & Pearl Lake Valor

A bomb tears Lake Valor open, draining it to bare mud so Team Galactic can flush out Azelf. Climb down into the empty crater afterward and Commander Saturn is waiting.

Lake Valor is in Sinnoh, with Valor Lakefront to the north. In the story it comes after Iron Island and before Route 211.
