Diamond & Pearl Stark Mountain
Stark Mountain smolders at the Battle Zone's edge, sealed until your story ends. You climb it alongside Buck. Once the Magma Stone is back in its cradle, Heatran wakes deep in the core.
Stark Mountain is in Sinnoh. In the story you arrive from Route 227 to the south and it comes before Route 228.
STARK MOUNTAIN MAP
This post-game volcano past the Survival Area climbs through magma chambers to an innermost room, with Strength and Rock Climb both needed and Rock Smash clearing the rubble between.
Pokemon Encounters
Past the Battle Zone, the dormant volcano burns with Fire types, Camerupt and Magcargo in the outer caves and Weezing deeper in. Heatran guards the magma chamber at level 70 once the Stark Mountain errand wraps up.

Stark Mountain Guide
Stark Mountain is postgame content you reach through the Fight and Survival Area after becoming Champion. Explore the cavern with Buck, who picks up the Magma Stone. Once you speak to his grandfather in the Survival Area, Buck races back to return the Magma Stone, and a Level 70 Heatran appears in the deepest chamber where the stone sat. Buck and the Magma Stone are the whole story in Diamond and Pearl; the Charon and Looker subplot is saved for Platinum.
