Platinum Stark Mountain
Stark Mountain smolders on the post-game Battle Zone, sealed until your story's done. Once Buck and the scientist Charon stop wrestling over the Magma Stone, Heatran turns up at its core.
Stark Mountain is in Sinnoh. In the story you arrive from Route 227 to the south and it comes before Route 228.
STARK MOUNTAIN MAP
Platinum twists the outer route around pools of bubbling lava, the way in tucked at the northeastern corner past the Survival Area. Inside, Strength and Rock Smash clear the path to the innermost chamber.
Pokemon Encounters
Magma chambers run hot with Magcargo, Camerupt, and Rhydon filling most of the grass. The Pokeradar adds a 22 percent Torkoal, and deep inside, Heatran guards the core at level 50, the reason most trainers brave the heat.

Stark Mountain Guide
In Platinum the Stark Mountain event gains a full Team Galactic subplot absent from Diamond and Pearl. Charon tries to grab the Magma Stone, you battle Mars and Jupiter in the entrance chamber, Buck helps in the main cavern, and a disguised Looker uses a Croagunk to snatch the stone and arrest Charon. Diamond and Pearl run a simpler Buck-only errand with no Charon, Looker, or commander fights. Heatran itself is caught once the Magma Stone is returned, though its level drops to 50 in Platinum from the Level 70 it sits at in Diamond and Pearl.
