How to get the Rainbow Slate in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. The Rainbow Slate is an item used to summon the Legendary Pokemon Ho-Oh when used at the correct pedestal in Ramanas Park. Ho-Oh is only available for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond.

First, obtain the Explorer Kit.
From here, go to the Grand Underground.
While mining, you have a rare chance to obtain Mysterious Shard L and Mysterious Shard S. You can exchange these at Ramanas Park for the Rainbow Slate.
After you have taken the slate to the correct pedestal and placed it, you will be able to begin an encounter with Ho-Oh Legendary Pokemon.
