A casual-friendly take on Kanto for the Switch. Wild battles are replaced with Pokemon GO throwing mechanics, and you can see every Pokemon in the overworld before engaging. Your partner Pikachu or Eevee can't evolve but learns exclusive multi-type moves that outclass everything else in the game.

0My Dex · tap the circle to startThe roster is Kanto's familiar 151, with Meltan and Melmetal added on the end for 153. Catching them is the part that changed. The tall grass doesn't fight back anymore, you aim and throw the ball at a Pokemon you can already see. Without a single trade, the two versions pooled still land 146, and one cartridge on its own stops at 135.
Flip to the no-trading count and the pooled total drops to 146. The seven it leaves behind are the four that only evolve through a link trade, plus a trio you can't catch on either cart. Play one version alone and the other version's exclusives need a trade too, so a single cartridge reaches 135.

Of the 153 cards, about 120 are open-field catches you spot and throw at, with another 22 coming from evolving those. The rest reach you some other way, and two of them only arrive from Pokemon GO. In national order the list opens on Bulbasaur and ends on Melmetal.
