LIFEWEAVER HERO COUNTERS

Life Grip is the ability everyone hates playing against. It yanks allies to safety right as you're about to secure the kill, and there's no counterplay once the animation starts. Focus Lifeweaver first. Without him, his team loses their safety net. He deals almost no damage on his own, moves slowly, and Petal Platform is more of a gimmick than a real escape in most situations.

  • Tracer, Sombra, and Zarya all exploit Lifeweaver's weaknesses. Tracer one-clips him before Life Grip can activate on a teammate. Sombra hack disables all his abilities and his base weapon barely scratches. Zarya ignores his heals with raw beam damage at close range.

  • Lifeweaver sits at C Tier right now with a 46.9% win rate and 7.2% pick rate across all ranks. Below average in the current patch. You can still win with Lifeweaver but the meta favors other supports.

  • Target him first. Lifeweaver is the team's safety valve. Kill him and every subsequent pick sticks. He has no defensive cooldown for himself, his weapon swaps are slow, and Petal Platform lifts him into a predictable position that's easy to shoot.

  • Worst personal damage of any support. Thorn Volley is slow and inaccurate, and swapping between heal and damage mode takes time. Lifeweaver contributes almost nothing in 1v1 duels. His utility depends entirely on teammates being worth saving, and in uncoordinated teams, Life Grip sometimes pulls allies out of fights they were winning.

  • Zarya ignores Lifeweaver healing with high-energy beam that burns targets faster than he can save them. Doomfist combo kills through Life Grip timing because the burst happens faster than the ability activates. Wrecking Ball disrupts his positioning with Piledriver.

  • Tracer one-clips Lifeweaver in half a second. Sombra hack strips all abilities and he's left with a weak primary weapon. Mei freeze locks him before he can swap to Thorn Volley for self-defense. Emre burst rifle drops him at mid-range before Life Grip targets register.

  • Kiriko Suzu on teammates makes Life Grip less necessary, reducing Lifeweaver's team value. Moira Biotic Grasp auto-tracks him and Fade escapes Petal Platform displacement. Zenyatta Discord Orb makes his low HP pool vanish fast.
