Level a Cyndaquil to 14 to get Quilava, the only road since the middle stage has no wild spot. That Cyndaquil must arrive by breeding or a trade, as the Johto starter is absent from Sinnoh.

Quilava Evolutions
Quilava is the middle stage between Cyndaquil and Typhlosion. It's a three-stage line with one more evolution to go. For breeding, average hatch time with a massive partner pool via one egg group. Sp.Atk has grown the most so far (+20), but there's still another 129 stats to gain in the final evolution. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Breeding
Breed with Quilava to get Cyndaquil eggs using 131 partners from the Field egg group. Notable egg moves include Covet, Crush Claw, Double Kick and 8 more.
DP Quilava Best Moveset
Same stats as Charmeleon and the same situation: passable Sp. Atk and Speed but not enough to justify the moveset when Typhlosion exists. Typhlosion brings the real stats.

Moves List
Egg moves make a real difference. Quilava gets Covet and Crush Claw exclusively through breeding, filling gaps that TMs and level-up can't touch. Normal and Rock coverage and more rounds out the picture alongside Eruption and Overheat.
