Froxes are large frog-like mini-bosses that are found throughout Hyrule's Depths. This creature can be incredibly deadly with its attacks to anyone unprepared and so, before engaging its best to stock up on plenty of healing items, weapons, Hearts and, strong armor. In this guide, we will explain how to beat the Frox and what attacks it can use. When first encountering a Frox, you will most likely find it patrolling in the Depths. Frox can see you from far away so it is best to keep an eye out on your surroundings while exploring. Before fighting one, make sure you have some strong, durable Blunt weapons such as a hammer. These creatures are dangerous both up close and at a distance due to the attacks it can use. The first thing you should do is stun the Frox, you can do this multiple ways, one of them by shooting it in the eye or waiting for it to begin inhaling the air. When it goes to inhale the air, you can throw or shoot a Bomb Flower into its mouth to stun it temporarily. While the Frox is stunned, climb onto its back and break the Ore Deposits using a Blunt Weapon such as a Hammer. After a few seconds, it will throw you off and do damage, so make sure to jump off before then. It's also best to keep some distance between you and the Frox, as if you're too close it will swipe at you, doing damage. However, when having too much distance between you, it will jump into the air and try to land on you. There are of course more ways to fight a Frox depending on its location. Below, we will list the Variants of Froxes and will note if there is a special attribute they have or can be used against them.
- Frox: The standard Frox.
- Obsidian Frox: A stronger Frox than its counterpart.
- Blue-White Frox: A Frox that has more health and damage than its counterpart.
- Gloom Frox: This Frox is stronger than all of its other counterparts and has the ability to damage Link's Hearts with Gloom. Before engaging make sure to stock up on Anti-Gloom food and equipment.
