Jumpluff Best Moveset
110 Speed on Grass/Flying with AbilityChlorophyll doubling it further under sun. 55 Sp. Atk means the moveset deals no meaningful damage. The role is pure support: MoveSleep Powder, MoveLeech Seed, MoveU-turn to pivot. Speed lets it set up before anything else moves. Offensive teams ignore it because it can't fight back.
110 Speed was blistering in Gen II (Gold & Silver). Sleep Powder plus Leech Seed plus Encore from the fastest Grass-type available. Pure disruption.

Jumpluff Weakness
Ice, Fire, Poison, Flying, and Rock moves hit Jumpluff for super-effective damage. Ice hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. The upside? Ground-type moves can't touch it at all. Jumpluff's special bulk (base 95 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.

Base Stats
Jumpluff's spread isn't flashy. Speed leads, Attack trails, 2 stats clear the bar. Tough to catch and worth 3 Speed EVs, on a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
Jumpluff travels on seasonal winds. Once its cotton spores run out, its journey ends, as does its life.
Jumpluff Guide
Don't let Jumpluff's 460 base stat total fool you. Chlorophyll is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier as a pivot.
Watch for Cloyster (Ice), Arcanine (Fire), and Nidoking (Poison) when using Jumpluff. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Cloyster is the most dangerous since Ice moves deal 4x damage. Flying and Rock-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
Run Chlorophyll on Jumpluff. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Jumpluff also gets Leaf Guard and Infiltrator, but they don't compare.
Jumpluff fills the pivot role. It's a physical attacker with base 55 Attack. Base 110 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
Run Leech Seed, Strengthsap, Substitute, and U Turn on Jumpluff. Leech Seed is the most common pick at 0% usage. This set covers the pivot role with a mix of damage and utility.
Game Availability
Jumpluff first appeared in Gold & Silver and has been available in 16 games across 9 generations. Obtainable through wild encounters in most titles where it appears.
