  • We rate Gholdengo A-Tier: a strong competitive pick. At 550 BST, it fits the support role. Base 133 Sp. Atk stands out.

  • Gholdengo's biggest threats include Volcarona (Fire), Landorus (Ground), and Gengar (Ghost), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Dark-type attackers are also a problem.

  • Good As Gold is the go-to ability for Gholdengo. It gives immunity to status moves. It's Gholdengo's only ability.

  • Base 84 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Gholdengo is a special attacker with base 133 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a support.

  • Best way to handle Gholdengo: Super-effective STAB from faster Pokemon is the simplest answer. Fire, Ground, and Ghost-type attackers hit hardest.
