Skiploom sits in the middle of its evolution line — stronger than Hoppip but not yet at full power. Most trainers push through to Jumpluff as fast as possible. Ground moves can't touch it, which offsets the 5 weaknesses somewhat. Known as the Cottonweed Pokemon.
Nothing fancy in Skiploom's spread. It leans mixed with Speed out front. And you'll get 2 Speed EVs per KO for it. Follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
Skiploom enthusiasts can apparently tell where a Skiploom was born by the scent drifting from the flower on the Pokémon’s head.
When the weather grows cold, Skiploom’s flower closes and the Pokémon cannot photosynthesize, so it flies away to warmer regions.
Skiploom Weakness
VulnerableSkiploom is weak to Ice, Fire, Poison, Flying, and Rock-type moves. Watch out for Ice attacks, those deal 4x damage. On the flip side, it's immune to Ground-type moves entirely.
Skiploom sits between Hoppip and Jumpluff in this three-stage line. Not the final form yet. For breeding, average hatch time with no compatible partners via two egg groups. Speed has grown the most so far (+30), but there's still another 120 stats to gain in the final evolution.
How to Evolve
Breed with Skiploom to get Hoppip eggs easily from the Fairy and Plant egg groups. Notable egg moves include Amnesia, Aromatherapy, Confusion and 9 more.

Egg moves make a real difference. Skiploom gets Amnesia and Aromatherapy exclusively through breeding, filling gaps that TMs and level-up can't touch. Normal and Fairy coverage and more rounds out the picture alongside Solar Beam and Energy Ball.

Transfer Moves
Skiploom isn't available in the wild in Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon. Start by transferring Hoppip from Gold, Crystal, or HeartGold. The evolution path from Hoppip to Skiploom is covered in the steps below.
At 340 BST, Skiploom is firmly in pre-evolution territory. Evolve it into Jumpluff before bringing it to any serious fight.
Skiploom's biggest threats include Lapras (Ice), Charizard (Fire), and Gengar (Poison), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Lapras is the most dangerous since Ice moves deal 4x damage. Flying and Rock-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
Skiploom gets Chlorophyll, Leaf Guard, and Infiltrator. But Chlorophyll is the one that matters — it's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.
Skiploom is leaning toward the physical side (base 45 Attack). But the speed tells the real story — base 80 Speed is workable — faster than some, slower than many.
Skiploom appears in 16 games, including Gold & Silver, Crystal, and Ruby & Sapphire.
Debuting in Gold & Silver, Skiploom appears in 16 games across 8 generations. A reliable presence in most mainline games, typically found through catching or hatching as a base form.
