Skiploom sits in the middle of its evolution line — stronger than Hoppip but not yet at full power. Most trainers push through to Jumpluff as fast as possible. Ground moves can't touch it, which offsets the 5 weaknesses somewhat. Known as the Cottonweed Pokemon.

Nothing fancy in Skiploom's spread. It leans mixed with Speed out front. And you'll get 2 Speed stat exp per KO for it. Follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.

Egg moves make a real difference. Skiploom gets Amnesia and Confusion exclusively through breeding, filling gaps that TMs and level-up can't touch. Normal and Psychic coverage rounds out the picture alongside Solar Beam and Giga Drain.

or evolve from Hoppip (Step 1)
  • At 340 BST, Skiploom is firmly in pre-evolution territory. Evolve it into Jumpluff before bringing it to any serious fight.

  • Skiploom's biggest threats include Lapras (Ice), Charizard (Fire), and Gengar (Poison), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Lapras is the most dangerous since Ice moves deal 4x damage. Flying and Rock-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.

  • Hoppip evolves into Skiploom at level 18. Skiploom evolves into Jumpluff at level 27. Skiploom is a middle-stage evolution in the Hoppip line.

  • Skiploom is a mixed attacker — base 45 Attack and 45 Sp. Atk. But the speed tells the real story — base 80 Speed is workable — faster than some, slower than many.

  • Skiploom appears in 16 games, including Gold & Silver, Crystal, and Ruby & Sapphire.

Debuting in Gold & Silver, Skiploom appears in 16 games across 8 generations. A reliable presence in most mainline games, typically found through catching or hatching as a base form.
