Azumarill is a water-type from Gen 2. Only weak to Electric and Grass. 100 base HP is its best stat. Known as the Aqua Rabbit Pokemon. It relies on priority moves or Scarf to keep up.
Bulk defines Azumarill's stat line. HP and Defense anchor the defensive side, but Attack can't keep up offensively. Moderately hard to find and worth 3 HP EVs.
By keeping still and listening intently, it can tell what is in even wild, fast-moving rivers.
When it plays in water, it rolls up its elongated ears to prevent their insides from getting wet.
Azumarill Weakness
GoodAzumarill is weak to Electric and Grass-type moves. 4 resistances help offset the weaknesses. With 100 HP and balanced defenses, Azumarill can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.
- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move
- Special stat split into Sp.Atk and Sp.Def
End of the line. Azumarill caps a three-stage chain that started at Azurill. Breeding produces the base form, and eggs are quick to hatch. HP grew the most through evolution (+50 over Azurill), and Azumarill peaks at 420 total stats.
How to Evolve
Breed with Azumarill to get Azurill eggs easily using 16 partners from the Fairy and Water1 egg groups. Notable egg moves include Amnesia, Belly Drum, Foresight and 5 more.
Azumarill runs a standard attacker set. A nature nature with flexible EVs EVs shapes the build, while Leftovers brings passive recovery each turn. An ability supports the kit from the background.

Base 50 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. On offense, Azumarill is a mixed attacker — base 50 Attack and 60 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two.
