Arboliva Guide

  • Arboliva has a 510 base stat total and ranks as B-Tier: a solid choice for the right team. It works best as a wallbreaker. Base 125 Sp. Atk is where it shines.

  • Arboliva's biggest threats include Charizard (Fire), Cloyster (Ice), and Blaziken (Fighting), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Poison, Flying, and Bug-type attackers are also a problem. With 6 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter. At base 39 Speed, Arboliva won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.

  • Seed Sower is the go-to ability for Arboliva. It turns the ground into Grassy Terrain when the Pokémon is hit by an attack. Its hidden ability Harvest can work in specific setups.

  • Arboliva fills the wallbreaker role. It's a special attacker with base 125 Sp. Atk. Base 39 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.

  • The core moveset is Giga Drain, Leech Seed, Earthpower, and Strengthsap. Giga Drain leads at 0% usage. This set covers the wallbreaker role with a mix of damage and utility.

Game Availability

Introduced in Scarlet & Violet, Arboliva has appeared in 1 games across 2 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
