Pelipper Weakness

Pelipper's Water/Flying typing leaves it vulnerable to Electric and Rock. Electric hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. It shrugs off Ground-type attacks completely. It resists 5 types, giving it decent defensive coverage. Pelipper's physical bulk (base 100 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.

Pelipper Guide

  • Watch for Jolteon (Electric) and Golem (Rock) when using Pelipper. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Jolteon is the most dangerous since Electric moves deal 4x damage. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • It depends on your team. Pelipper at 440 BST isn't a powerhouse, but the Water/Flying coverage might be exactly what you're missing.

  • Don't let Pelipper's 440 base stat total fool you. Drizzle is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier.

  • Run Drizzle on Pelipper. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Pelipper also gets Keen Eye and Rain Dish, but they don't compare.

  • Pelipper fills the balanced role. It's a mixed attacker with base 50 Attack and 95 Sp. Atk. At base 65 Speed, it won't be moving first often. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.

Game Availability

Pelipper first appeared in Ruby & Sapphire and has been available in 16 games across 8 generations. Obtainable through wild encounters in most titles where it appears.
