Jumpluff punches above its weight class thanks to Chlorophyll. It doubles its Speed in sun, which is enough to make up for stats that don't impress on their own. Ground moves can't touch it, which offsets the 5 weaknesses somewhat. Known as the Cottonweed Pokemon.
Jumpluff's spread isn't flashy. Speed leads, Attack trails, 2 stats clear the bar. Tough to catch and worth 3 Speed EVs, on a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
Jumpluff rides warm southern winds to cross the sea and fly to foreign lands. The Pokémon descends to the ground when it encounters cold air while it is floating.
Jumpluff Weakness
VulnerableIce, Fire, Poison, Flying, and Rock-type moves hit Jumpluff for super-effective damage. Ice hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. The upside? Ground-type moves can't touch it at all. Jumpluff's special bulk (base 95 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.
Jumpluff is the final form in a three-stage chain from Hoppip through Skiploom. Breeding this form produces Hoppip eggs (average hatch time). Evolving from Hoppip gave Jumpluff the biggest boost in Speed (+60), bringing the total to 460 stats.
How to Evolve
Breed with Jumpluff to get Hoppip eggs easily from the Fairy and Plant egg groups. Notable egg moves include Amnesia, Aromatherapy, Confusion and 8 more.
Chlorophyll helps Jumpluff stick around while dealing real damage. Leftovers for passive recovery each turn, max HP and Speed EVs for the right balance, and Solarbeam as the main threat. Not the fastest, but it doesn't need to be.

Recommended Teammates
Without breeding, Jumpluff misses out on Amnesia and Aromatherapy. That's 11 egg moves adding depth that the base kit lacks. STAB comes from Solar Beam and Energy Ball, with Normal and Fairy coverage and more rounding things out.

Transfer Moves
Jumpluff isn't available in the wild in Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire. Start by transferring Hoppip from Gold, Crystal, or HeartGold. The evolution path from Hoppip to Jumpluff is covered in the steps below.
Don't let Jumpluff's 460 base stat total fool you. Chlorophyll is what makes it tick — it punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier as a pivot.
Watch for Cloyster (Ice), Arcanine (Fire), and Nidoking (Poison) when using Jumpluff. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Cloyster is the most dangerous since Ice moves deal 4x damage. Flying and Rock-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
Run Chlorophyll on Jumpluff. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Jumpluff also gets Leaf Guard and Infiltrator, but they don't compare.
Jumpluff fills the pivot role. It's leaning toward the physical side (base 55 Attack). Base 110 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
Jumpluff appears in 16 games, including Gold & Silver, Crystal, and Ruby & Sapphire.
Jumpluff first appeared in Gold & Silver and has been available in 16 games across 8 generations. Obtainable through wild encounters in most titles where it appears.
