Stats & Training
Jumpluff's spread isn't flashy. Speed leads, Attack trails, 2 stats clear the bar. Tough to catch and worth 3 Speed stat exp, on a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
Even in the fiercest wind, it can control its fluff to make its way to any place in the world it wants.
Jumpluff Weakness
Ice, Fire, Poison, Flying, and Rock moves hit Jumpluff for super-effective damage. Ice hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. The upside? Ground-type moves can't touch it at all. Jumpluff's special bulk (base 95 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 4x (Critical) | Ice |
| 2x (Weak) | Fire, Poison, Flying, Rock |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Water, Fighting |
| 0.25x (Resist) | Grass |
| 0x (Immune) | Ground |
- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move
- Special stat split into Sp.Atk and Sp.Def
In Crystal, Skarmory's Drill Peck hits Jumpluff for 66-78%. Golem threatens a KO with Explosion (97-114%). Nidoking deals 82-96% with Ice Beam.

Jumpluff Guide
In Crystal, Jumpluff has a 460 base stat total and ranks as C-Tier: a niche pick in Crystal's meta. It works best as a pivot. Leech Seed with Leftovers is the standard set.
In Crystal, watch for Cloyster (Ice), Arcanine (Fire), and Nidoking (Poison) when using Jumpluff. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Cloyster is the most dangerous since Ice moves deal 4x damage. Flying and Rock-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
In Crystal, Jumpluff fills the pivot role. It's a mixed attacker with base 55 Attack and 55 Sp. Atk. Base 110 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
In Crystal, run Leech Seed, Encore, Stun Spore, and Toxic on Jumpluff. Leech Seed is the most common pick at 23% usage. This set covers the pivot role with a mix of damage and utility.
For Crystal, Jumpluff has answers, but so do you. Super-effective STAB from faster Pokemon is the simplest answer. Ice, Fire, and Poison-type attackers hit hardest.
