Slow is good when Trick Room is up, and Parasect is about as slow as they come. Bug/Grass typing gives it a defined role on the team. Watch the Fire and Flying matchup though — quadruple damage means one hit can end it.
Nothing fancy in Parasect's spread. It leans physical with Attack out front. And you'll get 3 Attack and Defense EVs per KO for it. Follows a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
When nothing’s left to extract from the bug, the mushrooms on its back leave spores on the bug’s egg.
Parasect Weakness
FragileParasect's Bug/Grass typing leaves it vulnerable to Fire, Flying, Ice, Poison, Bug, and Rock moves. Fire and Flying hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. The Bug/Grass typing picks up 5 resistances to work with.
- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move
- Special stat split into Sp.Atk and Sp.Def
Parasect is what Paras becomes. Breed it for Paras eggs (average hatch time). A decent partner pool for breeding via two egg groups. Eggs are average hatch time. The evolution from Paras pushed Parasect to 405 total stats. HP saw the largest single gain at +25.
How to Evolve
Breed with Parasect to get Paras eggs easily using 23 partners from the Bug and Plant egg groups. Notable egg moves include Counter, False Swipe, Flail and 4 more.
an ability isn't flashy, but it matters. Combined with Leftovers for passive recovery each turn and flexible EVs EVs, Parasect fills the attacker slot reliably. A nature nature finishes the spread.

Parasect looks average on paper at 405 BST. But Dry Skin is why it sees play — build around that and it pulls its weight. C-Tier trick room on our tier list.
Watch for Arcanine (Fire), Aerodactyl (Flying), and Cloyster (Ice) when using Parasect. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Arcanine is the most dangerous since Fire moves deal 4x damage. Poison, Bug, and Rock-type attackers are also a problem. With 6 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter. At base 30 Speed, Parasect won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.
Paras evolves into Parasect at level 24. Parasect is the fully evolved form. It sits at 405 BST in its evolved form.
Parasect is a physical attacker with base 95 Attack. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. But the speed tells the real story — base 30 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. Fits the trick room role.
