Stats & Training
Nothing fancy in Parasect's spread. It leans physical with Attack out front. And you'll get 3 Attack and Defense EVs per KO for it. Follows a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
PARASECT are known to infest the roots of large trees en masse and drain nutrients. When an infested tree dies, they move onto another tree all at once.
Parasect Weakness
Parasect's Bug/Grass typing leaves it vulnerable to Fire, Flying, Ice, Poison, Bug, and Rock. Fire and Flying hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. The Bug/Grass typing picks up 5 resistances to work with. Dry Skin grants an additional Water immunity, reshaping the matchup chart.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 4x (Critical) | Fire, Flying |
| 2x (Weak) | Ice, Poison, Bug, Rock |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Water, Electric, Fighting |

- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move

How to Get Parasect in Emerald
Parasect isn't available in the wild in Emerald. Start by transferring Paras from Red, Yellow, or White. The evolution path from Paras to Parasect is covered in the steps below.
Parasect Guide
In Emerald, watch for Arcanine (Fire), Aerodactyl (Flying), and Cloyster (Ice) when using Parasect. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Arcanine is the most dangerous since Fire moves deal 4x damage. Poison, Bug, and Rock-type attackers are also a problem. With 6 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter. At base 30 Speed, Parasect won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.
In Emerald, Paras evolves into Parasect at level 24. Parasect is the fully evolved form. It sits at 405 BST in its evolved form.
For Emerald, it depends on your team. Parasect at 405 BST isn't a powerhouse, but the Bug/Grass coverage might be exactly what you're missing.
In Emerald, Parasect looks average on paper at 405 BST. But Dry Skin is why it sees play. Build around that and it pulls its weight. C-Tier trick room on our tier list. Spore with Leftovers is the standard set.
Parasect gets Dry Skin, Effect Spore, and Damp. But Dry Skin is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.
