Togetic sits in the middle of its evolution line — stronger than Togepi but not yet at full power. Most trainers push through to Togekiss as fast as possible. A longtime staple going back to Gen 2. Known as the Happiness Pokemon.
Togetic's built to absorb hits, not race for knockouts. Special bulk with Sp. Def doing the heavy lifting. And the fast 800K XP curve means it won't take forever to bring up, worth 2 Sp. Def EVs.
Although it does not flap its wings very much, it can stay up in the air as it tags along after its trainer.
Togetic Weakness
GoodTogetic has no type weaknesses thanks to its unique defensive typing.
- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move
- Special stat split into Sp.Atk and Sp.Def
Togetic connects Togepi to Togekiss in this chain. At least one evolution here needs an evolution item. Sp.Atk has grown the most so far (+40), but there's still another 140 stats to gain in the final evolution.
How to Evolve
Breed with Togetic to get Togepi eggs easily using 16 partners from the Fairy and Flying egg groups. Notable egg moves include Foresight, Future Sight, Mirror Move and 2 more.
Togetic runs a standard attacker set. A nature nature with flexible EVs EVs shapes the build, while Leftovers brings passive recovery each turn. An ability supports the kit from the background.

You're catching Togepi first, not Togetic. Togepi appears but it's a rare spawn in the encounters below. The step cards map the full 2-stage line with evolution methods between each stage.

At 405 BST, Togetic is firmly in pre-evolution territory. Evolve it into Togekiss before bringing it to any serious fight.
Togetic has no type weaknesses, making it hard to counter through typing alone. Focus on status moves, entry hazards, or raw neutral damage to take it down.
Togetic is a special attacker with base 80 Sp. Atk. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. But the speed tells the real story — base 40 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. Fits the trick room role.
Togetic appears in 17 games, including Gold & Silver, Crystal, and Ruby & Sapphire.
Since Gold & Silver, Togetic has been in 17 games. Requiring an item-based evolution to obtain means it's consistently available but requires more effort than simply catching it in the wild.
