Combusken Guide
Combusken is meant to evolve into Blaziken. At 405 BST, the stats aren't there for competitive play yet. Pre-evolution Pokemon rarely hold up against fully evolved threats.
Speed Boost is what you want on Combusken. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Blaze) work on paper but Speed Boost is what makes Combusken worth using.
Speed Boost is the hidden ability. It raises Speed one stage after each turn. Worth hunting for if you want Combusken to compete at a higher level.
At base 55 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Combusken is a physical attacker with base 85 Attack.
Game Availability
Available in 16 titles since its debut in Ruby & Sapphire, Combusken spans 8 generations of Pokemon games. It's accessible through catching or hatching as a base form in most mainline games.
