Glalie Best Moveset
80 across every stat on pure Ice. AbilityMoody randomly raises one stat two stages and drops another each turn. The moveset is a coin flip that occasionally wins through stat accumulation. AbilityIce Body heals under hail instead. Ice typing with 80/80 defenses and no secondary type makes survivability rough. Neither ability compensates for the mediocre base stats.
80 base stats across the board in Gen III (Ruby & Sapphire). Too strong for the tier below thanks to Explosion and Spikes, but too average for the tier above.

Equal stats meant no stat was good enough to build around in Gen IV (Diamond & Pearl). Pure Ice without a secondary typing or strong ability had nothing to offer.

Froslass did the Ice-type Spikes job with 110 Speed and Destiny Bond in Gen V (Black & White). Glalie was the slower, worse version of its own counterpart.

Mega Glalie hit 120 Attack and 120 Sp. Atk with Refrigerate in Gen VI (X & Y). The Mega form was decent, but base Glalie without the Stone was irrelevant.
Bulky Support Moveset
- Ice Shard

Mega form stayed niche in Gen VII (Sun & Moon). Base Glalie sat at the bottom. Moody was banned in most formats for being too luck-dependent to allow.

No Mega form in Gen VIII (Sword & Shield). Five gens of decline with no floor in sight. 80 across the board was a recipe for irrelevance.

Seven gens at the bottom in Gen IX (Scarlet & Violet). Moody was the only interesting thing about Glalie, and Moody was banned.

Base Stats
You won't find a real weakness in Glalie's stat line. It's well-rounded for the Face Pokemon, and what it does with that depends on moveset and items. Yields 2 HP EVs, on a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
Its prey is instantaneously frozen stiff by the cold air it exhales from its huge mouth. While they’re in that frozen state, it gobbles them up.
Glalie Guide
Glalie works as a hazard setter with 480 BST behind it. C-Tier on our list: a situational pick that fills a niche.
Yes. Mega Glalie is the evolved form, sitting at 580 BST. Big power spike over base Glalie (480). Equip the Mega Stone and it transforms in battle.
Glalie's biggest threats include Blaziken (Fire), Machamp (Fighting), and Aerodactyl (Rock), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Steel-type attackers are also a problem.
Inner Focus is the go-to ability for Glalie. It prevents flinching. Its hidden ability Moody can work in specific setups. Ice Body is the other option. Pick based on what your team needs.
Glalie is a mixed attacker with base 80 Attack and 80 Sp. Atk. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 80 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. Fits the hazard setter role.
Game Availability
Available since Ruby & Sapphire, Glalie appears in 17 games spanning 8 generations. Beyond its original form, it gained a Mega form in Generation 6.
